At next Saturday’s RITE of Spring Event at the Mahtomedi District Center, MAGI invites kids and families to join us in room 104 and outdoors to learn about the value of nature play and how to create a natural playground in your own backyard.

Mary Rogers, naturalist /teacher from Tamarack Nature Center, will share activities and ideas that will delight and engage kids of all ages.  Visitors will take away some fun things to get started at home and have an opportunity to register to win a big basket of books and tools for nature explorers.

• Use tree cookies, branches and more to make forts and fairy houses
• Play at our water table
• Explore nature close up with magnifying glasses
• Learn what experts have to say about the value of nature play
• Take home a booklet on encouraging nature play in your own backyard
