Clarissa (Claire) Grilley was awarded the 2017 MAGI/Wildwood Lions Environmental Leadership Award May 10 at a ceremony at Mahtomedi High School.

Claire was chosen because of her outstanding academic record and impressive variety of extracurricular activities, many of which show her commitment to environmental issues. She is a member of the Eco Club and a camp volunteer at Warner Nature Center. In her junior year she participated in a successful campaign to save the woods surrounding Mahtomedi High School from being turned into a parking lot. Claire will be attending Montana State University, where she will pursue a degree in environmental science. She hopes to one day become an environmental lawyer.
