The Mahtomedi Area Green Initiative has been named a finalist for the 2013 Environmental Initiative Awards in the Sustainable Communities category. The awards, according to the Environmental Initiative website, recognize “innovative projects that have achieved extraordinary environmental results by harnessing the power of partnership.” MAGI was acknowledged for its groundbreaking grassroots development and management and its ability to bring multiple partners together around community initiatives, as well as activities ranging from installation of the Zephyr Wind Turbine at Mahtomedi High School to partnering in the annual RITE of Spring Earth Day event.

The winner for each category will be announced at the Environmental Initiative awards ceremony Thursday, May 23. In addition, one finalist will be named the Partnership of the Year. Stay tuned !
